        Wanted to give my bunnies a new dig box, because they really love it. They have a ball pit which they play in but I know its not the same for them !
         I have tried paper (Peep eats it ravenously so cant use it)
        Sand (With their fur it is actually horroundous and it gets in their eyes so had to stop)
        Leaves(fun to root through but not dig worthy!)
        The most success I have ever had was soil. I wanted to get them organic natural soil (zero additives and all that) but I cant find it anywhere-everything has some additional element to it (to help plants grow, added nutrients whatever that entails

        So the question is does anyone use a soil that maybe has additional elements to it, but that has been safe for their rabbits?
        My alternative is to go dig some soil and sieve it and then bake it …but I dunno how my house would feel about me baking/microwaving soil…again

          Some places sell bags of peat that has no additives. Certain plants like rhododendron and azaleas need soil without added fertilizers because fertilizers make the soil too alkaline.

          I think most, if not all, commercially available bagged soil is sterilized, so you shouldn’t need to bake it.

          I had bark chippings in Yohio’s dig box. That too came pre-packed from a garden center. He mostly flopped on top of it though. But he seemed to appreciate it.

            My only concern is that the pair of them are little munchers and feel like they should chow down on almost everything so that’s the main concern is all!

            But they are actually so happy with soil so I dont think it’s fair to deny it to them!
            I’ve asked in a few garden centres and my dad is a horticulturist and they couldnt source anything for me, but I’ll keep my eyes peeled;
