So I took the advice of laying down a puppy pee pad for Bombur and his little mop butt. I covered it with a few layers of old shirts and towels, and went off to finish cleaning the bunny area. I come back and Bombur has not only dug up the clothing but dug the pad and nibbled at it. There’s about a square inch missing. I can’t tell if it’s all been from nibbling or from the digging. I’m leaving in a few hours for my in laws and I’ll be there for a few hours, so I’m worried about him and his poor tummy. How concerned should I be?

I would wait to see if anything is off about him and if something looks wrong I think you should take him to the vet.

I would have thought a square inch piece wouldn’t be enough to cause any harm. Just encourage hay and water a d chances are he’ll be absolutely fine.

Mine ate at theirs a good bit with no negative results (i did try and prevent it and in the end i just removed them to save illness) but i dont think its overly harmful!

Bam has nibbled at puppy pee pads. No adverse effects. We only use them at my mother’s because he’s peed on the floor there in the past and she has wooden floors that stain easily.

Unless it’s one of the fancy “gel” ones, most pee pads are natural fibers on a very thin plastic backing, and therefore inoffensive in small quantities. So just keep an eye on routines…
