Well, the title says it all.
To be honest, I really have been spoiling her since Quincy is gone. She gets unlimited hay, 1 1/2 cups veggies in the AM as well as 1/8 cup pellets. Then I’m gone at work all day and I give her another 1 1/2 cups veggies when I get home, then another 1/8 cup pellets at dinner time, and some snacks in between (either herbal blend or some different veggies, such as green bell pepper or a few pieces or matchstick carrots, or some banana or dried cranberry 3-4x a week on treat days.
The fruits are no more than 2 tsp, 3-4x a week, but obviously I’ll start there on trying to trim down some. I don’t think she’s necessarily overweight, but I think she is definitely plump. I’ve also been giving her a little more pellets (an extra tablespoon) because she is molting lately as well. Could she be just looking more “plump” because of molting? When I stroke her I get clumps of loose fur coming out, so is it possible that the “loosened” fur makes her appear more padded?
She’s free range, so exercise time isn’t an issue. She has a sandbox that she runs around and binkies in as well. Besides cutting down on fruits and the sugary vegetables (carrot and bell pepper) what’s a good way to keep her in shape? Anybody have any tips to get her more active? She does lounge a lot, she typically does bunny maddness for a few hours in the early morning (3am-5am) but otherwise she’s alone for the day and is pretty chill at night as well.
