Introduction:
My female rabbit is a little over a year old. I’ve had her since she was a baby, she is not fixed. On November 8th I took in a male rabbit that needed a home, I know he is a few years old at least, not sure on exact age. I was told that he was fixed, so I had no problem taking him in and introducing him to my female. They loved each other right away. They mated the first day they met, and several times after that. I wasn’t really concerned because they both seemed super happy and he was fixed, so might as well let them have fun!
After roughly ~2 weeks I decided to give the male a much needed bath and nail trim. His old owners clearly were not very diligent in caring for him- I waited this amount of time because I wanted him to adjust to his new environment before traumatizing him with grooming. Upon bathing him I realized that his little testicles were very much intact. I immediately panicked and went to check my female- definitely pregnant. I separated the two rabbits immediately and started caring for pregnant doe appropriately. All went well.
It has been 32 days since they were first introduced. Like I said, they mated several times during the first two weeks before I realized that he was not fixed and that she was pregnant, so I have no way of knowing the exact date of conception. I imagine it was almost immediately because I was able to feel babies right around the two week mark.
Everything seemed to be going normally in her pregnancy.

The problem:
On day 30 (two days ago) I came home and witnessed my female having some very clear contractions. Only a few, she didn’t like me watching her so I covered her cage to give her some privacy. She was visibly uncomfortable and would not even lay down- I watched her try, but as soon as her belly touched the ground she decided that wasn’t going to work and went back to sitting on all fours. She was drinking well and was munching on some hay- but not much. She was almost completely off her food- not interested in pellets, and refused her veggies which she normally loves (she did sneak the parsley out of her veggie bowl at some point). Her back end was puffing out, and she hopped around like she was about to explode. All the signs were there- everything seemed to be right on time. I figured that there was no way I wouldn’t wake up to kits!
That was two days ago.
I haven’t witnessed any more contractions, she doesn’t seem uncomfortable anymore, her back end isn’t as puffy as it was but there are no kits? She’s still off her food and her belly still looks full and pregnant. There’s no way I can safely palpate her without her freaking out. This is day 32 of pregnancy at the absolute earliest. I imagine realistically it’s probably day 30. I know it’s possible she still has a few more days- but is it possible that she went into labor 2 days ago and just stopped? Could she have given birth at night and eaten them without leaving a single trace of blood or anything?
I am so confused.
