        Hello again!

As a few of you may know I got two Angoras recently and for the first time groomed them yesterday. While I was grooming them i noticed they were covered in Matts! A few had gotten so bad I had to snip them out. Luckily I manged to get them all out after a lot of time and patience. I was about to put the bigger one down (Dusty) when I felt one last big Matt but was horrified to realize it was her tail! Now you may be thinking “ummm yeah the tails are always puffy and not a matt” but it was very, very matted. I couldn’t even brush it and their was dried mud and dirt stuck in it from being so matted.

What do I do? I don’t want to leave her like that! I can’t cut..right? Please help!

        Thank you in advance

You can cut, but you have to make sure you don’t cut into the actual tail. You should be able to feel the little tail in there somewhere.

Some buns need a sanitary shaving down there now and again. It’s best if a vet tech or other professional does it the first time, because they have the proper gear and they can teach you how to do it yourself.

            Okay thank you so much!

The only problem is that her whole tail is just one big matt! So I think (like you said) the Vet would be the best idea
