In a month or so I will be moving from my current home in Colorado and going live with family in Michigan for a couple of months. We would then be planning our next move to Oregon shortly after that. Why? Long story short. My family and my boyfriends family live in Michigan and want to spend some time with them before we move further away. Odin is a 5 year old polish weighing in at a whopping 3 pounds of pure fluff.
Every time I have moved with Odin in the past it wasn’t far. About an hour car ride and I was able to put his cage (Living World Deluxe Habitat size large) in the backseat and he was fine. When I take him to he vet he goes in a pet carrier and isn’t happy about it. This time moving Me, my boyfriend, our dog Phoenix(medium size), and or bun Odin are going with whatever we can fit into our 4 door sedan. I would like Odin to take up as little room as possible but I know he will need room for his litter box and a separate place to hang out. I think having Odin in a pet carrier for 2 days will stress him out.
My questions are: Has anyone traveled a long distance with their bun? What kind of set up did you have? What are some things you do to keep your bun happy and calm?
Any suggestions would be helpful. A few people have told me I should find a new home for Odin but that’s the last thing I want to do.
