You’ll want to make sure the carrier has reached the other side before stepping through, and it’s ready to receive the rabbit. That’s something you can most likely request of the security personnel and they’ll abide.

Practicing does help. In terms of noises, your voice is most likely familiar to your rabbit and your face will be closest to the ears when carried, so speaking to your rabbit when you can during the process to drown out other sounds would help.

I’ve never had to do it.
What is the reason? Is it to check there is nothing hidden in the carrier or to check the bunny is not a drug-mule….? (a drug-bunny?)

I know there is a definite no-no towards toward harnesses, but could a harness jacket be a good solution for this ONE case scenario JUST IN CASE she does get free?

Also, how about a towel around her as a bunny burrito to carry her through, atleast she can’t get her paws out to scratch you so you don’t let her go.

Have you practiced the step by step picking up routine. Stroking her sides or back then just putting your hands under her belly WITHOUT picking up, Then after a week put your hands around her front paws, WITHOUT picking up, then just pick up slightly like 1MM !!! off the floor and then gradually build it up.

Use clicker training with treats if you like – that works !!!

I’m wondering also, if there is noise and unfamiliar surroundings if a bunny will just go into shutdown mode.
Mine do at the vets… they let us do loads of things (trimming claws, bum clipping) that I can never do at home.

Defintitely practice soothing noises with her now and firm strokes / massages, so you can repeat them in a stressful situation.
