  This morning penny was doing fine she was zipping around the room and ate her breakfast. I left for work and when I returned at about 630 she was lethargic, hunched in the corner and uninterested in her greens. I tried pellets and she wouldn’t touch them. My rabbit vet does not open until 830 am tomorrow. I was able to speak to the vet and she suggested keeping her warm with water bottles in her carrier along with simethocone every hour for 3 hours. I’ve done that but she is still hunched in her carrier and I can hear her stomach gurgling. I’m so worried as this is my first experience with any kind of illness. She is experiencing a pretty bad moult right now. Any suggestions? tips? Positive vibes and prayers are always welcome! Thank you!!

  You could try some gentle massage. Rabbits that have some tummy discomfort will often allow this, when normally (when well) they wont let us touch the tummy.
  If she resists, I wouldn’t continue as you wont want to stress her further.

  Thank you so much!! I did some gentle massages but now she is grinding her teeth and since this is my first time having this issue I won’t be able to get her pain meds until morning her stomach is still gurgling not sure if that is good or bad

  You could try some Simethicone as well. I give it to Leopold when he has gas. Tummy massages, like Jersey suggested, are helpful too.

  You can continue to give simethicone after the 1st three doses in the intial 3 hrs. They cannot overdose on it as it isn’t absorbed into the bloodstream. Follow up doses every 3-8 hours is suggested.
  
  Is she toileting at all?
  
  Do you have or can you get some Zantac or Buscopan?

  We went to the emergency vet and she was given some SQ fluids, reglan & pain meds. I tried feeding her more critical care and a bit more simethicone. I just woke up to hear her nibbling on some greens I had left out. But nothing major no drinking and still no poops. I’m going to continue with critical care and some meta cam but I might still bring her to her regular vet at 830 am when they open. I’m exhausted! :/

  Thank you all!!! After two vet visits she is showing signs of improvement! She ate some wet greens today and is going to the bathroom again! She also seems more alert and is moving about. Still going to closely monitor her and continue giving the meds her vet gave us.
  
  I cannot thank you all enough for the prayers, healing vibes and advice! I say it all the time, the bunny community is truly the best!!
