        Hello!

I have been wondering if Jumpy is too skinny. You can’t see his ribs but you can easily feel them. Every time anyone feeds him, he looks like had been starved for a week. I will add some photos below.

        His diet is:

        Morning:

        1. 1/8 cup of pellets
        2. refill hay if needed

        Evening:

        1. 2 cups of veggies (he weights 2.3 kg )
        2. refill hay if needed

        Thank you so much!

He could probably do more pellets. Wick’s only 1kg, and he gets between 1/8c to 1/4c plus 1 cup of veggies. This may help get a slightly more healthy weight. Doesn’t look crazy skinny, but lean, yes.

I agree with Wick. Doesn’t look overly skinny (hard to tell from a pic) but a little lean. I prefer my buns to be a bit chubby but some buns don’t hold weight as well. It’s a huge struggle to keep weight on my senior.

Every time anyone feeds him, he looks like had been starved for a week..

Normal…… My buns get 3 meals a day and have unlimited hay and they act like I haven’t fed them for weeks every meal.

Are there any other ways to fatten him up as he eats alfalfa pellets as there are no timothy pellets where I live?

Alfalfa is the fattening type, not Timothy. Increasing pellets and feeding critical care until he’s full will help.

Good to know that every bun acts starved when fed! Would giving him more fruits, vegetables, and hay help fatten him up?

Vegetables don’t add weight because they are really just water. Fruit isn’t good either because of the sugar. Mainly adjusting pellets will affect weight, as well as feeding critical care! Best of luck!

My two “kids” 8 and 3yo, are starving 24/7. I also buy sliced pineapples by the can, and dehydrate em. About 12 hrs and they’re dry and ready to eat, they fight like cats and dogs over them, if one finishes his while the other’s still eating hers……………….
