Has anyone had experience bonding an neutered rabbit to an unspayed rabbit? I’ve heard of people having this work but I know it is prefferable for both rabbits to be fixed. Cookie Dough was neutered 2 weeks ago so I’m still going to wait just be safe so I will probably do some prebonding for now. How long should prebonding last? My rabbits have been aware of eachothers existence for the past 3 years and they go outside and use the same toys but just at different times. They can see eachother somtimes depending on where they are in their cage and they can hear eachother. I used to let the rabbits play together when Dasher was a baby but as soon as we found out she was a girl (she was supposed to be a boy) we separated them.

No experience with this but wanted to say it’s good to wait a bit longer as males can impregnate females upto one month post neuter!

Prebonding should go on for a month or two, which is perfect since you should wait about two months after a neuter before you can start to bond anyway

However, your female will still be hormonal as she is unspayed. Hormonal rabbits can cause neutered/spayed rabbits to act out hormonally as they ‘feed’ off of the hormonal bun’s hormones. You really shouldnt bond them at all until two months after your girl is spayed. Putting them together before she is spayed is playing with fire and is likely to end up with some fighting or bloodshed until after proper bonding (re: she being spayed) can be done.
