I have a lovely Six Month Old male rabbit, who currently lives on his own as he hasn’t had the snip snip yet.
I absolutely adore him, but one problem we’re really having with him is chewing!
So far he’s chewed through a Phone Charger, a fan, two lamps and my new carpet!
He’s also terrible at Bar Biting, he’s a creature of routine and knows that he comes out at 5:30 am and 9 pm, so if you’re more than a minute late he’s biting and chewing at the bars, and really pulls at them.
I think he’s now learnt that biting means he can come out, as he has plenty of toys, chews and wooden blocks to gnaw on so it’s not boredom. He does also have a run in the garden, but he doesn’t seem keen on being out there, as he doesn’t really move when he’s in it.
Any advice how to stop the bar biting or chewing of cables? He’s already chewed the paint from the bars and he’s starting to rust the bars underneath. The last thing I want is for him to hurt himself
Is he likely to grow out of this?
Could it be his hutch is too small? Does anyone know of a place in the UK where I could get a big enough indoor hutch (the one i have right now is the only indoor rabbit hutch I could find)
Would having a girlfriend help?
Thanks
