        Hi!

So I was petting Benji and felt an odd lump under his skin in his chest/rib area. It wasn’t protruding to the point where I can see it, it’s under his fur and all, but I’m worried. Everything is normal however, he shows no signs of illness. I’m not sure if this lump is new either as this is the first time I’ve really felt his underside, though I’ve never noticed it before when holding him. Should I be worried and take him to the vest, or is this normal and possibly a fat lump or even just a part of his ribs?? He’s not the youngest, at around 5 years old, if that matters

        Please help!

I really would like to avoid unnecessary vet visits though, as my mom is very conservative with money spent on our animals, especially since she’s convinced they’re the ones who end up killing our pets (I had two guinea pigs previously who were fell ill, one spontaneously, another possibly from old age. They both passed soon after seemingly getting better and then a vet visit)

After checking some more I’ve found more of these lumps, almost like lymph nodes? throughout his underside. They are small and movable. j

What does the lump feel like? Rabbits can get lipomas, but they tend to appear in bunnies that are more on the chunky side or in fat “deposit” areas like a dewlap. Lumps can be scary because there are much more sinister things that it could be like a tumor or an abscess.

They are small, kind of hard, and movable. Kind of like the lymph nodes, I think they’re called, that one can feel in their jaw area (with your head down). I’m hoping these lumps are similar to the ones we humans have, and that they’re only a concern if they enlarge
