So here in the UK the spider season has started, it happens end of September, early October, they get in your homes to get warm.
This evening I found one near the door, it was big enough to cover a peanut butter lid, I had to get my neighbour to get rid of it, I thanked him after and apologised for disturbing him on a Sunday evening.
Then I went to the kitchen to clean up, I saw some apples were left and went to give Olly a piece for a treat.
When I went back there was another spider, I was scared, it was on the floor, I wasn’t going to ask my neighbour again and ran into the bedroom looking for a box or make up tin I could put over it until a carer or someone came, I found the lid off my plastic cup, because of my eyesight being very poor, I dropped the lid but it missed the spider and it ran, I screamed, someone was knocking on my door, it was the young lady from across the road, she said she had been shopping with her Mum and there wasn’t any room in the freezer and asked if I would like some items, I said, “Spider, big, kitchen.” I couldn’t say anything else but that, she pushed me to the side and said she would get it because I was frozen to the spot, I was stood in the doorway and my next door neighbour’s brother asked how I was, I said. “Spider, big, kitchen.” He said. “No my brother got rid of it, calm down, its gone now.” Then he saw the lady from across the road emptying the hoover into the bin, I shouted. “Spider, big, kitchen.” He came over to me and guided me to the gate, the lady told him it was gone, he asked how big it was, she said. “5 inches.” She wasn’t bothered.
It took me 20 minutes to go back in my home, I cut lemons in half and put it all on the floor near the door round the doorways etc.
So if you live in the UK, have you had any spiders yet? If so how big? Any tips for keeping them out?
