Hi everyone, i discovered a small patch of fur missing on my young bunny tonight. She is happy, eating, pooping etc. My husband had a look while he i held her, he said it was very clean with a tiny scab as small as a pin head. Has anyone heard of something similar? Thanks!

If you see more hairloss and scabs it could be fur mites. Fur mite scabs are typically yellowish-white and there’s also as a rule some dandruff around the site. Fur mites are common in rabbits and the best treatment is Revolution (selamectin). Don’t use fipronil (Frontline and other brand names) on rabbits. It’s deadly toxic to rabbits, so we always issue this warning when somebody mentions possible parasites.

But it’s normal for buns to shed in patches sometimes. I’d keep an eye for now.
