Stitch doesn’t have his pen yet, I’m waiting for it to be delivered…still. During the day he is free roam because I am home all day with him. He isn’t litter trained yet because he is so young. (Just found out he was only 5 weeks old when I got him) and so he stays the night in the bathroom… If he is put in there for even just 30 minutes during the day he gets mad at me and deliberately poops a TON infront of the door, digs his pellets out of the dish and dumps his water ? he then will sit on his bed and just wait for me to walk in lol so I’m wondering what kind of things your rabbits do when they get mad at you.
Must be an Ea thing CottonBall holds a grudge, thinmping and nipping slightly and throwing stuff when I close the cage. And I have to sneak to close it, or she darts back out again. Get a water bottle asap for him, otherwise when his face gets furry you’ll have a mattd mess. Five weeks…ouch! Sorry they didn’t tell you sooner. That’s not right. Glad he’s doing ok though. Bet he’s a puffball at that age. I’ve never seen a baby, she was 4 months when I got her. Not so puffy right now, as she has a summer haircut. Oh she digs the carpen near where Ihave her running room blocked, like she wants to get to the rest of the house, where all the cords and naughty stuff are, lol.
Stitch is a flemish giant. I put down a deposit for the angora and my sister a few days after went and bought a flemish giant who had bloat and was scred to death. And I went there to help her with him and he got right up in my lap and snuggled with me and just fell in love with me and I with him, so she gave him to me and I gave her the money she paid for him. So now we have stitch and my angora will have to wait . I’m a little sad because I was so excited about getting one but with stitch I couldn’t ask for a better and more personable and cuddly rabbit. Ill get my angora in due time.
He’s upset because you’re not near him at night. Right now, you’re his whole world. Right after I got Clover (a now 15 lb Chinchilla), I let her free roam the living room at night, but blocked her from my adjoining bedroom. Well, she wasn’t having any of that noise. So after a few hours of thumping and throwing things about, she bulldozed the blockade I had keeping her out, and jumped up on my bed. She stomped about a while, grunting and pulling at blankets to express her irritation with me, and then curled up beside me and went to sleep.
She can’t make it to my bedroom in the new house I’m in, but if I don’t spend at least an hour at night lying on the floor with her plastered to my side, she let’s me know about it in the morning. You might consider putting a litter box and a little food and water in your bedroom and letting Stitch sleep in bed with you. Flemmies are supposed to be great cuddlers and bed buddies. Train him up young. It’s what I’d try at any rate.
Aww I wanted a flemmie, but it’s so hard to find Ea around here, I couldn’t pass her up. I’ll get a Flemish some day. Enjoy they’re supposed tobe really social, like a small puppy.
Him sleeping with me at night is my goal
hes just not litter trained at night yet. I just put a litter box and hay in my room this morning to try to deter him from pooping on the floor in there and I put one in my kids room and living room. So we will see how he does in the next couple days. He comes in every morning and lays with me and in the window but still will poop in my bed when he is laying next to me and will sometimes pee. And I’m not wanting to be rolling in poop at night lol hopedully once hes a few months older and neutered his litter habits will get better so he can do that! (Cross my fingers) he always pees and poops on my daughters bed almost every day. He is really fond of her lol they are like best friends. (Shes only 2) but his testicals haven’t dropped yet so idk if its marking or just him going where he likes. Lol
Poop in the bed you’re likely going to have to get used to. As I understand it, when a rabbit completely relaxes and sleeps, some poop tends to fall out. Clover usually drops 6-8 pellets when she crashes (I could NEVER be a rabbit. Being on alert all the time would drive me insane. Insane-er?) for the night. In fact, I’ve had to revise all of my standards for what counts as “clean” since getting rabbits. I was killing myself trying to clean up every little pellet every second of every day. Today I found a little Dawn pellet in the FREEZER (Don’t ask, I have no idea), and I was like, “Eh. At least it wasn’t in the ice bucket.”
And sleeping with your bunny is simply the best thing you can do in bed! (almost.)

It’s not just poop. I’m learning to put up with hay all over the floor as part of the “cost” of doing business with my fluffballs, as long as a proper percentage of it is going into their tummies. But as for poop; if you’d told me six months ago that I’d routinely be picking up stray “bunny berries” and casually tossing them back into the buns’ condo until it was time to clean, I’d have scoffed – but that’s exactly what I’m doing.
I know dogs get really nervous when there is a closed door vs. a fence that is blocking them in. Maybe he get’s nervous because he can’t see out and feels trapped? I suppose once you have his pen it won’t matter.
I wonder if you can make that his “safe space”, by always feeding him in there, even when you’re home, and trying to spend positive time in there too? I know my bunnies treat their condo as their “burrow”, and feel safe and protected in it. They spend lots of time in it even when they have free run of the apartment.
Once you do get his pen, I imagine you will be able to partially litter train him, but it won’t be perfect until he’s neutered, as you said. You will need to restrict his space a bit so he can “get organized”, so to speak. Once you expand his space again, you’ll probably need a couple more litter boxes around your house.
And man, my husband always wants our Bertha to come sleep with us on the bed… but I know she would pee, and probably chew lots of holes in our comforter and blankets… so it’s probably not going to happen. 🙁

my clean is most peoples messy lol i have a 2yo girl and 3yo boy and they are professional mess makers. stitch loves it lol so with thatt, trying to restrict space is just about pointless bc he will follow the. kids everywhere and they will “help” him get to where he needs to go. for now. i have aa litter box in each room and 2 in the. bathroom for him. and picking up bunny poop is soo much better than picking up my daughter’s when I was potty training her ?
lol!
We can all go into the cocoa-puff business together!

that would be a hilarious April fools day prank!
You’re not afraid of rolling over on her in your sleep?!?! I would be absolutely terrified of that! I sleep like a maniac though lol
I sleep lightly but I tried sleeping with stitch last night and he peed on my blanket and pooped in 3 separate PILES. yes piles. like u-8 poops in each lol then he went to my daughter’s bed to pee and leave a pile there! so nope. we will try again once he is fixed. lol
Oh yuck what a mess! Hopefully once he’s fixed you can enjoy having him in the bed with you.
yea hopefully. for now once his crate comes in I will put it in my bedroom so at night he can at least be right next to me ![]()
Oh no!! Yuck!!!
But, I do believe that it will be difficult to keep from doing their business on the bed…
My female Ophelia will jump up on my bed (it’s pretty high up so my mini lop won’t make the jump) and she never pees on it. It’s so funny because she just lays on my bed like it’s hers and she totally belongs there XD sometimes she leaves 1 or 2 poops ….usually by my pillow, how wonderful
…. but I’ve been told that this is considered the exception, not the rule. Many bunnies like to pee on soft, fluffy things!
Lol! Love the little poem you’ve got for your signature! Aww! Yes, sounds like my house. The poop wouldn’t be so bad, but the pee, ick. Putting the pen in your room will be good. And try a low radio if you can sleep with that on and it won’t bother you, CB calms down when I read an audio book, not sure why.

That’s my own main worry, particularly as I tend to be a fairly light, mobile sleeper. I’d love to have Panda and Fernando snooze with me in my bed someday soon, though, once I figure out how to keep them from getting squished – but I’m going to make sure to lay down the towels first! (And make sure they’re kinda rough-textured to reduce the instinct to pee on them. I’m so glad I got that sisal rug for their play area; sisal is quite rough in texture, which makes it an undesirable location for peeing but provides their paws with a nice grip.)
Oh man, I would be terrified of squishing Bertha. One night our cat was passed out in a super deep sleep, and my husband pulled the blankets in a way that he flopped over and didn’t wake up. My husband was convinced the cat was dead and that he had smothered him by mistake. (While he was exclaiming this, the cat was nuzzling and licking my hand).
It too my far to long to convince him that the cat was not in fact dead, and that everything was fine.
I can only imagine the night terrors if that happened with Bertha and Moose!
On that note though, I know one member lays a shower curtain with a fleece blanket on top over their bedding as a bunny-buffer. I guess it dampens the human smell that triggers the marking, and also protects the bedding if the bun does mark.
