So IF we get a doe in future for Boston ( we are not sure yet but just thinking )
What would we name her?
Sort of names I like : food names – but not easily associated to food ones
For example Boston is named after the Boston bun but most don’t auto associate it to that
I thought of Brooklyn after the Brooklyn blackout cake but rest of family isn’t keen
I like apple brand names : Braeburn and bramley will be future boy names for me but don’t help me with a doe name unfortunately
I want something abit less immediately linked to food than cupcake or toffee
I also like unisex names for girls – Marley and Willow are ones I can think of right now
Any not easily associated but food linked names suggestions ? And unisex names suggestions?
IF it helps with picturing to name – IF we decide to attempt a doe with Boston it will be a mini lop
Broken orange or orange being colour of choice currently , or broken blue
Willow leaf is actually the common name for a Mediterranean mandarins if you were going to be naming an orange lady
There’s also Washington oranges if you wanted to keep the food/place name theme.
Or Bali and Belladonna oranges (b names to match Boston)
Oh that’s a great start thanks dface!
The willow connection is great !
And Bella for the orange connection is good too …
Hopefully I’ll get more suggestions like these ![]()
What about Chelsea. Like a Chelsea bun. Not sure if a Chelsea bun is well known but we have have them in the uk.I’ve just had to google what a Boston bun is as I’ve not heard of one before and I can see that they are prevalent in Australia and New Zealand
I thought of that one too but know someone with that name that puts me off it
But I do like how it’s a bun like Boston though … any other buns or cakes / bakery names like that ?
I’m just the same with names too, I can be so put off by certain ones. What about saffron or penny. There’s saffron buns and penny buns(or loaves).
There’s such a thing as a London bun, and also a Penny bun (I just think the name penny is really cute)
Both Penny and London getting added to my list now
thanks!
So far I’m leaning London ….
I like London/Brooklyn, because not only are those foods, they also double as cities, just like Boston does! ![]()
I know this name is nothing to do with the types I was going for ( not a food related )
But I quite like Binky …
What do you guys think of that ?
My kids all called their pacifiers binky – youngest one is not long off a pacifier and she then called her new chewy ( binkie replacement as new comforter ) bikkie and recently gave that up too. So it is a name of something that is comforting and calming for us. And there is the obvious bunny binky connection
sparky is also one that goes both ways. and I know this is more of a boy name but I like the name pickles lol
apple
biscuit
butterscotch
cinnamon
dumplin
ginger
these might be a bit obviously food related but it’ll give ya ideas, hope this helps!
What about for a cream coloured doe ( in holland lops is a creamy fawn – really dilute creamy orange )
Cream girl food names that aren’t too obvious of a connection??
I thought buttercream but it’s way to obviously a foodname
Binky is a cute name.
Is it common to call pacifiers Binky’s in NZ? I new that was true for the US but didn’t know was the case for NZ. We called them dummies. I just figured the rest of Aus called them that also.
Some bakery items but all obvious:
Berliner
Brioche
Beesting (lol) as in Bienenstich.
Baba (as in Rum Baba)
Bouchee (Boo-shay)
Olie Bollen
Blini
Baklava
Blondie (white chocolate brownie)
Brulee
Less obvious is Betty. ie Brown Betty which is another name for Apple Crumble.
ETA: Missed one in the above list. Babka
Oh! I just found that you have a biscuit/cookie there called Binky Bites too??
Oh really! I’ll google that
So you like the name binky then??
I don’t think it’s common – my brother just came out with it when he was 1year old referring to his “binky ” and it stuck – from there it went through the family and passed on to my kids years later. All 4 of my kids got the name from the older ones
How about Boobah? I hear it means “doll” in Hebrew . Or maybe Beeskers. That can be for girl or boy. Or LouLou
You could name her swirl, after the orange cramsicle swirl bar icecreams.
or after orange swirl cheesecake.lol
I love the name Binky or Binkles ![]()
Names that are herbs are my favorite
Girl: Rosemary (Rosie), Sage, Lavender, Marjoram (Marge), Caraway (Cara), Mint or Minty
Boy: Dill (Dilly), Thyme, Tarragon (Terry), Oregano, Bay, Basil, Cilantro, Parsley, Coriander (Cori or Cory)
But these are not necessarily boy or girl names, they can be either.
If I get a pair of bonded bunnies, I really want to name them Rosie and Terry! (Or Rose and Thymelord LOL)
