I’m on a roll with thread making today! I was just curious – those with a bonded male and female pairing: how often, if ever, do they exhibit signs of courtship? Some of you may know that Peanut often shows interest in Buttercup’s bum and she has to sometimes chase him away Tonight they did the sniffy circling that I’ve mentioned a few times before, nothing aggressive it’s just him trying to sniff her and her not wanting to be sniffed First time in ages! Anyway, he also honked at her a little. Well one of them honked, I assume it was him because he’s honked previously and she hasn’t. They’ve both been spayed and neutered since December last year. I’m just wondering if it’s a case of peanut being frisky and Buttercup saying “not tonight darling”

Although not a male/female pairing, my Bombur often tries to court my Blue Bombur will always try to be very close to Blue, and always tries to cuddle even if its pretty hot in the room. Blue just ignores him, which causes Bombur to throw a little hissy fit (throwing things all over the room, LOL). Bombur also just loves to groom Blue whenever Blue’s face is nearby, and will flop on top of Blue whenever Blue is sprawled out. Blue does cuddle back when hes not warm, though. He has pushed Bombur into a corner before and then flopped right on top of him; Bombur just popped his head out from under Blue, got comfortable, then went to sleep.

There are times when Bombur goes through his hormonal phases (usually during seasonal shifts) where Bombur will perk his butt up and scoot into Blue (his face, his thighs, his butt, anywhere Bombur can rub his butt on Blue) Blue either ignores it and goes to sleep (sending Bombur into a hissy fit again, lol), or Blue walks away and Bombur will just follow him and they resume playing around like normal.

That sounds positively hilarious and adorable

Mine aren’t bonded yet but we are trying. Quincy really likes to sniff around Ophelia’s bum…and she doesn’t like it!

Peanut is such a frisky little devil. He tried humping Buttercup’s face! Usually I would assume this is dominance but before he humped, he circled and honked
