My one year old doe, Ginny is a lionhead rabbit who, as far as I know, has always had perfect fur. It’s always been silky and perfect and never changed in color or texture for nearly a year. This month I brought her out andmy Dad said her fur looked…different. Much scruffier. I tried brushing it down and he said it still looked like she’d been rolling around in pine needles or something. I pulled up a slightly older picture of her and he’s right. Her fur looks frayed and messed up no matter what I do.I washed her and everything but her fur looks like it’s getting ready to fall out but she’s never really been sheddy before. Is she just getting ready to molt or something? Should I be concerned? I looked at the other three and they all looked exactly the same, no difference in color, texture etc.
All suggestions, ideas and inklings are welcome! Thanks!
P.S. I don’t have a newer photo but I’ll post one when
I have access to a better camera and lighting, maybe tomorrow but here’s an older one when she has cleaner fur.
