  so i was petting my rabbit when I noticed that there he was shedding on his ears and a bit on his head but nowhere else on his body so iwas like hey… thats weird. SO, I looked closer and i saw that there were patches on both his ears with dandruff… so obviously i got really scared and I was like WHAT IS THIS so i searched it up on google and i got mites as a result……
  
  and it might be mites because he scratched both of his ears one time in the past hour, should I be worried?
  
  Also, good vets are hard to find where i live so it’s pretty expensive to take him there. I’ve been too worried before because my rabbit had a bit of diarrhea but it was just because he had gotten into the pellet box and ate too much, and my parents were mad because the price was a lot

  I’m watching my rabbit right now, and i love him so much, he’s lying down with his head up and he’s not scratching but he was seven minutes ago
  
  so i gues the question is, should i wait a bit more and see if the flakes go away and if they dont to take him to see the vet in a couple days (because it may just be the humidity where i live or dry ears?) or should i take him to the vet ASAP

  Hi! Sometimes rabbits get flakes on their ears, esp when they are shedding. With mites you often see some white/yellow-ish crusting plus flakes. It’s also more common for mites to first manifest at the nape of the neck and the base of the tail.
  
  I think you can observe this for a little bit, but obviously if your bun starts scratching like mad and/or the flaking gets worse, you should see a vet.
  
  The best thing for treating a bun for mites is Revolution (selamectin). Some vets use ivermectin instead. When someone mentions possible parasites here we always issue a warning against the use of Fipronil. It’s a compound that’s sold OTC under many names, the most well known are probably Frontline and Sentry (but there are other names as well). Fipronil is deadly toxic to rabbits and must never be used.

  Thank you so, so much!! I’ll be sure to keep an eye out for my rabbit and see if there are any changes! And I will not use Fipronil :0
