George is definitely moulting, and I’ve noticed a few changes and I know poop is very important so I’m hoping you guys can help. I’m including a pic. Just yesterday I noticed George’s poops got smaller and fewer. This is after I gave him a two baby carrots in one day and had been giving too many fruit treats. He also just got his small pet hay sampler and he’s been eating more 2nd and 3rd cut orchard hay. I’ve cut out fruits and pellets and am only feeding hay and greens now.
Anyway, the amount of poop has increased but there are a lot of irregular sized poops as well as string of pearls. You can see in the attached pic. He is still very hungry, and was running around and binkying this morning. The other thing that has recently changed is that he is incredibly thirsty, and is peeing all over his cage. He is litter box trained, and I have the litter box where he chose his “spot” to be. But now he’s peeing on the blankets in two other spots.
I changed the bedding and cleaned him out just an hour ago, and there’s already poops in there so I feel good about that. It’s just Labor Day weekend and I’m worried about securing care. ETA: I forgot to mention some of his poops are bigger than normal and eggplant shaped.
