  We have had our new bunny for almost a week. She has been amazing. She’s not phased by anything, is super friendly and eats like a trooper.
  
  I’ve come into sort her out this morning and there was poo plastered everywhere. It was thick and dark and looked like a cowpat.
  I noticed she hadn’t really touched her pellets, her hay or her water so changed all of them and sat with her. She was very quiet at first but then did hop round a bit.
  Whilst I was watching her she did a few poops and they were extremely sloppy to the point of being like brown liquid.
  
  We took her to the vets who said that her stomach didn’t sound too bad. She have her a shot and sent us home with some CC to give her every few hours.
  She’s now has two lots of CC and is eating hay again (she’s also had a tiny drink) but her poo is still the same.
  
  She’s also got poop all around her bum area.
  
  Is there anything else I could be doing to help?
  
  She’s a lot better in herself but it’s the fact her poop hasn’t changed at all is worrying me!

  Did the vet test the poo at all? Coccidia is not uncommon in rabbits of this age.

  ETA: What type of hay does she have. Timothy, orchard or pay hay would be good, rather then alfalfa (Lucerne) hay.

  All the vet did was ask us a few questions and listened to her tummy. She seemed to think it might be the start of GI stasis but I thought that was where rabbits don’t poo at all. I did tell her that she’s a young rabbit but she didn’t mention any other illnesses
  
  She’s eating Timothy hay and has been chomping on that a bit this afternoon. Just checked on her and she’s loafed with her feet underneath her.

  You’re right, stasis is when the gut slows or stops, so they stop eating and pooping. Do you know if the shot the vet gave was a motility med? Had she not being producing poop leading up to you seeing the messy poop?
  
  Eating predominately hay should help if it is a gut imbalance at play. Avoid treats of veggies. Had you started her on any greens that may have caused the loose stools? Some buns don’t do well with greens initially.
