It depends (sort of). Is there a way you can remove objects that he can jump on?

I had my male neutered on 8/24. He was acting nuts to get out of his cage so I just made sure there was nothing he could jump on in my room and let him out. If you can’t do that, then I think about 3 days at least. He needs to get the healing process going before exerting himself.

My bed is quite high off the ground so he can’t make that jump anyway because he is tiny. But idk about your situation.

My vet’s recommendation, which understandably is the recommendation always given to be completely safe, was “No jumping or climbing for one week”.

Notably, Wick had no swelling or irritation after the surgery, which the vet said was really unusual but extraordinary, so he healed very quickly and was back to normal behavior. I would try keeping him in then if he’s going to jump on the bed. Quincy was let back into the living room on day 3 and he jumped up on the couch, which he had actually never done before! He must have been feeling good to make that jump. He seemed to be in a little discomfort after that so he got some more metacam and he was totally fine after that. But, I would say that you should try to keep him from jumping for at least a few days. Could you possibly prop the mattress up against the wall when you’re not using it? Idk what kind of bed you have…I can’t manage it at all, I have a tempurpedic bed and my god those things are HEAVY.
