Hello fellow rabbit owners,
I own a 1 year old male Lion Head bunny.
His usual behaviour has been always a bit skittish at loud noises, not overally cuddly, hyper but relaxes heavily during the day. He shows affection towards me through light nibbles, licking and “purrring” if he is petted.
However, the problem at hand is that we have recently fixed our baseboards because he enjoys chewing them. In order to successfully do that we had keep Shaggy in his cage for about 2 -3 days to take some precautions so he wouldn’t continue to do it.
I’ve taken him outside during those 2-3 days so he can stretch his feet and legs. Now that the baseboards are fixed he is almost refusing to leave his cage and whenever I walk up to the cage he bolts under his shelf thing ( a safe place). I tried to lure him out with treats but when I put my hand in he lunged towards me and grunted.
He has never done this behaviour and I’m worried that I have done something wrong.
How should I proceed to fix this problem? Help!!
Regards,
Upset rabbit owner.
