  Hi All,
  I have a 6 year old female who i have never bred before. Just a couple months ago i thought she was feeling skinny, and this week i picked her up and she is huge. she’s a big eater and still drinking plenty of water, but lately when i open her cage she doesnt jump out and run around. i’m also bunnysitting a neutered male rabbit for the last month or so. this isnt their first encounter and there havent been problems in the past.
  her weight gain is all in her abdomen, her dewlap hasnt changed, and she is having a harder time cleaning herself.
  i know neuters arent foolproof, but could these symptoms be something worse?

  A male can still be fertile for a month or a little longer after his neuter, but if it was longer ago than that when he was neutered, then it doesn’t sound like her large abdomen is from being pregnant. She hasn’t been near any other males, has she? Unless both rabbits are spayed and neutered and have gone through a bonding process, it really isn’t a good idea for them to be together, even if one is neutered. There can be aggression and fighting, plus rabbits should be permanently bonded and together all the time, not just seeing other rabbits from time to time. If you do bunny sit sometimes, the other bunny should be kept apart from your own rabbit.
  
  It sounds like you need to visit the vet and find out what is causing the enlarged abdomen. I hope that your bunny will be okay.
