Hi! im new to taking care of rabbits. i was hoping you could help me with my problem.3 days ago, i rescued a rabbit at a vacant lot near our house. We were trying to catch him for almost 2 weeks but he keeps on running away so we figured out he’ll be fine since there’s grass and hays everywhere on that place where he is. Days before we got him, rain poured heavily every night, it worried us but thought he can manage to find a shelter there. Until 2 days ago,my dad finally got a hold of him so we took him and pat him dry. he was a bit weak, emancipated but still able to hop around, until yesterday when we noticed he was just laying down and kinda not eating. i tried to lift him up and let him stand but he keeps on falling on his side. i thought it was becozhe got caught up in the rain previously. i keep feeding him with soft foods and water. can you help me on what to do?

Thank you for trying to save this bunny! Keep him warm, try to get food in him. He really does need to see a vet. They can give him supportive care until they’ve figured out what’s wrong with him. There could be any number of things wrong with him, from effects of emaciation to internal parasites to a bad bunny cold. A bunny falling over can mean an infestation with e cuniculi or racoon roundworm. Are there racoons in your area?

Yes. If you can, please continue your kindness toward this poor bun and have a bunny-savvy vet see him. Buns unable to stand are very ill and need immediate medical attention.
