Critical Care is a powder that is very dense in nutrients. It’s mixed with water to make a paste (like pancake batter), and fed to rabbits via syringe feeding. It’s used for rabbits after procedures or when they need nutrients and cannot eat solid foods. I gave Wick Critical Care (CC) when he was underweight and needed to gain weight, and he was given CC after his neutering to get some nutrients in him. I’d actually recommend getting yourself a Critical Care small bag of your own just in case something comes up in the future and you need to feed your rabbits it.
Post anesthesia can be a stressful time for rabbits, so read among these forums and other reliable sources online to find the best after-care instructions. Generally, if your rabbits want to be left alone, leave them alone as to not stress them out. If you think they are comforted by having you around but not necessarily having you touch them, sit by them for a bit. It’s vital to monitor if they are eating, pooping, peeing, and drinking water when they come home. If not, speak with your vet. You should also ask your vet about what to look for and his/her recommendations when you pick them up.
