  Last night I just brought a new 8 week old buck Orange mini lop home, his eating drinking and pooping fine last night he was very very destructive and loud and I couldn’t sleep at all as his been placed in my room I had to move him into the bathroom but I’m just wondering how long do I leave him in his cage to get used to it etc and when can i start letting him run around but also when his stress levels would lower as I’m guessing his very stressed.

  I got sprocket at pretty much the same age. I kept him in a cage for about 2 weeks but he was let out about 3 times a day for an hour or so. he was happy for the time out but also appreciated the time in cage to just relax undisturbed. you have to see things his eyes…all alone now in a brand new environment living with a non furry giant lol. Once Sprocket started chewing the cage a bit and was harder to put him back in the cage is when I let him loose. But make sure if you do intend to keep him free roam that you have bunny proofed the area he will be in and he can be either monitored or he cant get into any shenanigans.

  When I got my bunnies, they stayed in their cages for a few days, give or take. I believe Blue only needed about 3 or 4 days to feel comfortable, Bombur needed about 9 days, and Badger only needed a day or two. If you feel your bun is ready to come out, make sure you block off everywhere you dont want him to go (bunny proof!), and then let him loose

  That’s great thank you both for all your advice. I let him out earlier and he seemed very happy very nervous and cautious of me but happy binking.
  
  I also wanted to ask his been in the meatloaf position a lot but it sounds like sometimes his eating but his not is this bruximg I believe they call it ?

  that’s the chattering teeth of content. not to be confused with the pain grinding of teeth. my bun too will often sleep in loaf then do the stretch or the flop . really depends where he is though. but he too will do the little chatter or purr of teeth.
