  Sprocket is going for his neuter tomorrow and I am freaking out…i know it is routine procedure but I am so worried. Also worried that he has the sweetest personality and is full of energy and mischief and is always super curious…i really don’t want him to lose that…will he?!

  Majority of neuter go very smoothly Wick was snapped out of drowsiness after a day, and back to being normal by day 4. I did prevent him from jumping on and off the futon until his post neuter check up though.
  
  Be ready to syringe feed water if he’s not peeing after the neuter! Some rabbits don’t drink for a few days after the neuter.

  I fed meds to rookie for months at the end so that I can do…however Sprocket does this funny squeak sound when picked up and it scares me cause he makes it sound as if he is being squeezed and that’s why he squeaks but that is definetly not the case as he does that sound when not picked up as well and it’s not an in pain or scared sound it’s just his sounds…he is a chatter box

  Sprockets personality won’t change , don’t worry about that I’ve had a few neutered boys and they didn’t change at all in that way – just calms down any hormonal needs that are there or prevents ones that are to come still ( if left unneutured)

  Ophelia makes a weird noise if you try to pick her up too! It sounded like a squeak at first but after her spay she magically learned the art of grunting (she never had before!!)
  
  If he won’t drink, just feed him plenty of wet veggies. After Ophelia’s spay, she didn’t want anything hard- she hardly touched hay, didn’t even want pellets, and would only eat lettuce and herbs! As long as you feed him veggies and he’s getting enough water that he is still producing urine, he will be ok so don’t totally lose it if you notice he isn’t drinking. Do make sure he is peeing though!

  Well wishes! The surgery might be pretty quick with the recovery at the vets for longer. Too soon to tell with my younger male’s personality, but my older bunny is as affectionate with kisses, territorial, and naughty as he ever was. He is less energetic and more content to snooze, but that might be age (he’s 7.5 years).
  
  Any of my male buns seem to like fresh sprigs of dill post-surgery.

  Surgery went well. Not as grumpy as I figured he would be. Just watched him gobble down some pellets and some alfalfa hay so that’s good. He already has a few poop piles as well. I see 2 wet spots in the litter box so he owes already too. Vet said he was surprisingly quick to recover lost surgery while he was there. He is all stretched out for the night. He is confined to my room for the night to be safe. I might opt to sleep on the floor with him.
  He has metacam and cisapride for meds. He took meds like an absolute champ. Didn’t even have to hold him or wrap him up. Just sat and slurped it from the syringe. Might have been just being a bit high on meds but hope it is as easy tomorrow.

  He has been drinking and eating like crazy and he is pooping and peeing normal. He is half deep in the hay bowl as I write this…lol
  And he is making his usual sounds and is as sweet as ever so I’m pretty happy.

  If anything, neuters make buns even sweeter more often than not.

  Honestly you could not tell he was at the vet today. This room is getting smaller and smaller as he is being more and more energetic….on the bed off the bed on the bed off the bed…its 1230am…how about some sleep Sprocket … lol
  My only concern is that his nose is wet and has been for a few days. But no sneezing to accompany it. I mentioned the kennel cough in the dog to the technician when I dropped him off yesterday and she said nothing to worry about…and I asked if they found his breathing okay and they said yes he was fine all through surgery but I will mention it to the vet tomorrow when I get called for the follow and I will take him in if needed.

  Neuters generally heal well and quickly, but I would still prevent him from jumping for a few days, just so he doesn’t pull any stitches.
  
  The wet nose can sometimes be a simple condensation issue – warm bunny breaths, perhaps more rapid than usual, in a cooler environment.

  Would make sense …the condensation…that was my first thought to be honest….as it has been cooler in the past few days and weeks on and off and I just noticed it in the past week since I’ve been worried about the kennel cough ..and he is a very active bunny so I wouldn’t be surprised if he always ran hot. Lol he only has the occasional sneeze here an there but that’s either accompanied by hay diving or the bunny 500 where he leaves his baby fur fluffies in the air. Lol…
  And he just took over the bed…all 1.65kg of him just stretched out all over my bed straight across the queen bed of course. Its okay sprocket I’ll take the floor.

  He is doing really well. Couldn’t tell he had a neuter. He is still confined to my room but is anxious to get out. He is sleeping now … finally…. then I will check his surgery site and decide if he can again roam free.
  He loves the meds…little addict…which makes giving it super easy thankfully.
  I’m waiting on a call back about the damp nose issue.
