I just joined and I’ve already read a ton of helpful posts! I’m getting ready to adopt and preparing its home in my carpeted living room. I’m going to get the classic octagonal ex-pen and I like the idea of getting linoleum flooring.

        1. How do you prevent the rabbit from sliding the pen off of the linoleum? I want to be able to easily move the pen and linoleum for cleaning so I don’t want to fasten them together.

        2. I want to be able to freely move around in the pen with my rabbit so do you have a suggestion for what to use underneath the linoleum? I worry that I would break plywood and most chair mats are too small.

        Thank you so much!

Welcome to Binky Bunny forums! Good to read you’ve been finding the site helpful.

For the pen, I would get a piece of lino that is good deal larger then the pen, then stick down some 2×4 pieces of wood around the perimeter. The bun might push the pen a little, but not past the edges of the lino.

You shouldnt need to put any sub flooring under the lino. Or are you wanting to stick it down to something? If laying it loose, I suggest putting a cotton sheet or tarp underneath just in case the lino reacts with the carpet. Sometimes rubber mats and vinyls etc cause some yellowing on carpet.
