so basically my dad bought me a female rabbit about 7 years ago, i lived with her for a long time however i mostly live with my mom, and the bun
lives with my dad. He doesn’t mind taking care of her, in fact, i had taken her for a few months and he even missed her so it’s not necessary that I take her to live with me, however I have thought about it. The only issue is, she’s unsalted and I have a neutered male living with me at my moms. I know Male/Female bonds work the best, jowerever with her being unaltered I worry about her showing signs of aggression or dominance. She very docile and has never even made a peep in the 7 years I’ve had her however my male is very vocal and has a very strong personality. Seeing as how my female is regularly, I don’t think she would be aggressive towards my male but is there a chance that he could be aggressive towards her if she’s unspayed? I know there’s also a risk of false pregnancy but I just worry they’re both lonely. I have tried to get her fixed within the past couple of months and there were a lot of complications before the operation even started and at her age i don’t want to put her through that. Would it be best to just keep them separate?

Since she is not spayed, they both have a chance to be aggressive with one another. Hormonal females tend to be very territorial. Living as a solo bun all of her life, you might not have noticed it. Introducing a new bun into her space may cause her to act out and possibly attack him. Fixed rabbits will also act on the smell of hormonal rabbits in the area. He can easily start to attack her because he will be reacting to her hormones.

Personally, given her age, I would keep them separated.
