  I know clumping litter is dangerous and so is wood shaving after spaying, but how about carefresh? Or is it any litter that would stick to moister not safe?
  
  We don’t have newspapers around here I have some puppy pads that I could try. I bought her a new litterbox for cats as an upgrade, but since she shouldn’t jump is the ferret litterbox low enough for her?
  
  Estimated date is next Friday for the spay, and here is the checklist.
  
  Probiotics (Just in case) ✓
  
  Critical care ✓
  
  Handwarmers ✓
  
  Fruits and fresh veggies ✓
  
  Just need the metacam now.
  
  Is it also safe to keep hay in the litterbox while she has her stiches?

  Carefresh is fine to use, I used it for both of mine.

  Wick is a male, so he got neutered.
  
  Hay in Litterbox = I think so, but I made a point to push it all to one side, and if he digged through it, I’d visit the box again and push it to one side so he wouldn’t hop in and stab himself.
  
  I don’t know much about litter precautions, but if it’s something of concern, could you go to a craft store or knitting store and get some plastic knitting mesh to lay over the litter? This eliminates the problem, no matter the litter you use.
  
  EDIT: I use Carefresh to plug up holes in Wick’s hutch where pee might seep through. I think it’d be fine!

  Carefresh is fine . A water bowl would be good to add to the list so that she can drink more easily. Her current litter box should be fine as long as the entry isn’t more than a few inches high. Do you happen to know if she will have subcutaneous dissolvable stitches, or external synthetic ones?

  Sorry, I don’t know about the stitches yet, and we do have one of those water dispensers for pets, a bowl with a bottle attached, I haven’t used it much since she’s been messy, but I will once she is spayed. I made myself a litter grate with some fencing sort of like what they have in the BB store, it’s been working fine but she’s determined to dig the hay and poop out now too.
