I was wondering what Clem’s reason for buzzing has been. I thought at first she was grunting at me, I didn’t know buzzing was a thing until today.

She buzzes at me whenever I’m cleaning her cage and she runs towards me while I’m sitting on the floor, and with food, I know food is a reason for buzzing, she was crazy about that frozen pineapple core.

Does anyone else’s bun buzz around?

          Ah, the hormonal hum.

Its sort of hormonally driven, but can also be contentment. Even some desexed buns will do it from time to time. The first time I heard it, I had just Jersey and she was young. She was hopping around and I could hear this noise. It was almost as if she needed her joints oiled as I could hear this creaking sound.  It’s definitely more of a buzz or hum though.

These days, I mostly hear it from my 10yr old desexed lop when he’s getting all interested in his bunwife.   But I do occasionally hear it from my single boy rabbit too. He’s desexed also.

That’s a very good comparison, it sounds exactly like that.

Today she was buzzing while digging in her dig box and while running about me. She must be very happy or very hormonal, but we have an estimated date for her spay now, perhaps next Friday, I picked up some critical care and I added some probiotics to my chewy list in case she does develop any runny stool. Wish us luck.
