I might have fallen in love with a little netherland dwarf at my local RSPCA. And they admitted when I met her (before she was available for adoption) that they were going to call me about her when she was ready anyway, because of what happened with Cherub.
She still has a wound on her side that the vet thinks she did to herself out of stress, but it is healing well and they figured she would heal better out of that environment. So meet Lily. She is a 1yo netherland dwarf. She was desexed around the same time as Greebo, so I am thinking instead of bonding Greebo, Maggie, and Terry as a trio, I will try bonding Greebo and Lily as a pair in 4-6 weeks when they are ready. Then go for a group of four after that. I have sectioned off another part of the study for her so she has some private space, but she can smell the other rabbits and see Maggie and Terry through one little part of her area if she wishes – they have sniffed each other a bit already. Maggie actually seems particularly interested in her. But for the most part Lily is keeping to herself in the private area. She is a very confident rabbit and is having fun exploring.
For a Nethie she is a very cuddly rabbit. She loves being held and getting a face pat. But if you dare to stop patting her she will be very upset and you will know about it.
