  Autumn likes nothing more than to lay at the foot of the bed at night much like a dog or cat would and I’ve never stopped her, as I’m sure you can see . However, I’ve spent many hours cleaning up after her. Though she’s long been spayed the problem continued but I found a simple trick:
  
  Cut a large rubbish bag at the base and down one side so as to open it into a flat sheet, taping together multiple bags if necessary to make a waterproof sheet. Now slip this between the upper side of the quilt and the freshly washed quilt cover, making sure it’s spread properly. When you sleep your smell will not reach your rabbit resting on top, therefore it is likely they will not mark and if they do it will only be the cover that needs washing. This can be done between the mattress and sheet although it might be uncomfortable.
  
  Tip- if you tend to sleep in the same area, put the bags around the area (overlapping the area slightly) as they will not rest on you at night and this will stop moisture build-up.
  
  The downside is that its noisy when moved or walked on and they could mark where you sleep during the day (if so, cover the area with a bag beneath a fresh towel and take off each night). Re- arrange it each night. This may even break the habit. Hope this helps someone

  This is great advice! I don’t usually let my rabbits run around but they really do love to sit on my bed and I have to make sure they’ve just used their litter box before I bring them up because I’ve had to wash my sheets WAY too many times to let them up often. Thanks!

  Rookie used to pee on my bed too… I covered the whole bed with puppy beds and put a sheet over it to make clean up easier and yet nothing changed….so at the very least it made clean up a bit easier each time.

  Serenity- no problem. Like us humans they seem to have a penchant for beds, in the day she likes sitting on the matress with the quilt pulled slightly back (perhapse for security) but sleeps on the quilt at night. Its an experience to one day wake up to.. blackness and then realise there is a rabbit sleeping right up to your face
  
  Rookie- hopefully this way will mean even less clean up should you decide to try it. It’s a real pain but they give you the look, you know the one that looks like you just upset a tiny puppy and you give in. They’ve got us sussed for sure

  We’re such suckers! Changing around our beds and sheets for animals that are technically meant to live outside! X’D They’ve totally got us under their little paws.

  It’s unthinkable for those who’ve never had Rabbits and even for us it’s unusual, but I wouldn’t have it any other way even though it makes me a bit of a madman I’ve either kept or been exposed to almost all major pets having kept a dog, fish (pond and aquarium), birds, reptiles and amphibians. also many of my family have cats but none hold a candle to rabbits as I see it for myself. Every time I look over and see Autumn lazily flopped or feel her nudge my ankle for food I feel content that I gave her the best life I could.

  ok…so sprocket recently discovered that he can jump high enough to jump up on the bed…now with that of course came the obvious after math of peeing on my bed…so …I took action lol
  
  I actually padded his litter box with a towel to make it as soft as my bed and I would move him from the bed when I saw the tell tail signs of the droopy eyes and lifting tail….lol and put him off the bed. My mom also read somewhere that if you put tin foil on the bed the bunny wont want to pee there…not sure why maybe the sound or texture of it… so anyways I did that too trying to nip this in the bunny but before it became a habbit….
  
  So far it has been working…knock on wood. I will keep you posted.

  Rookie- it’s tough sometimes with rabbits, they can be both annoyingly and endearingly stubborn at the same time that’s also a good solution, but I suggest you don’t use a towel in the box as he may acociate ALL soft things with toilet= bad news. but the tinfoil sounds it’d work well. Hope all goes well for you.
  
  Jersey- Thank you what can I say, never have I become so close to any pet. I’ve been guilty of letting things fall by the wayside for her to be happy but she means a lot to me. Were two very strong minds, often at loggerheads but that’s what makes it so great because when she decides to flop next to me and fall asleep (and snore is one of the best things ever because it says: “you are big and scary, but you never hurt me so fear I have no more”. That unlikely connection of humans which have brought great suffering on Rabbits, then showing a gentler side to an animal who was arguably never meant for this world (for the great suffering they have had) is possibly the most profound thing I have ever felt. This is the true reason I do the things I do and why for me, I am a true Rabbit-Mad-Man!
