are there any other flights that may allow bunnies in cabin? maybe toddler would handle a longer layover than the bunnies handling a cargo flight. I have never flown with my bun but I personally don’t think I could commit to flight that did not allow him in cabin. I would be waaaay too worried about him the entire time.

Personally, I wouldn’t. Bunnies in cargo is pretty risky.

The unfortunate thing is, there are fewer and fewer airlines that allow buns in-cabin (even domestic) and a flight from Hawaii is often treated similarly to international flights due to cross-Pacific portion.

One thing I don’t get is how the bunny-parent community hasn’t organized an up-in-arms protest to get airlines to recognize that buns are far better and safer and less obtrusive passengers in-cabin than either cats or dogs.

When I was calling around to ask for a special allowance for Chewie, you wouldn’t believe how many airline reps told me that rabbits are banned due to being rodents or (get this!) reptiles!

problem with something like that is where do you draw the line? at what animal? spiders and snakes are not loud or disruptive on a flight either but I wouldn’t want to sit next to one for 12mins let alone 12 hours… but a bunny i’ll set next to as long as I am allowed lol.

I am sure a lot of animals don’t handle flying well and are not allowed in cabin so it would take a lot of scientific data and research that could be presented that bunnies are at more risk than other small bodied animals such as chinchillas, hamsters or even a kitten or a chihaua

I think there IS no line to draw. As long as the creature is not heard or smelled (or seen unnecessarily), they should be able to fly. And frankly, I think the same rule should be used for hooman passengers: squalling kids, trumpeting loudmouths, and unwashed individuals.
