        Hi everyone,

Since Wilbur’s passing on Sunday Fig has been rejecting human attention. Normally he likes to run about and nose bump us but understandably he’s been mostly laying around. What I’m am slightly concerned about is that he runs away when I approach and is rejecting being pet. Fig and Wilbur were together for about 6 months but their bond seemed instant from the day they met. During Wilbur’s death Fig actually was right there grooming her and stayed grooming her for a long time afterwards. I know this might sound silly but I’m wondering if maybe Fig is somehow associating me with Wilbur’s death or “disappearance.” I did wait to remove Wilbur until he had stopped grooming her and was eating but now I’m wondering if he didn’t get enough time to process. He’s always been a very social bunny and never has been skittish around me before. Is this normal? Do I just need to wait it out? After Totoro’s passing Wilbur desperately needed attention. I don’t want him to become too lonely but I also don’t want to stress him out by forcing unwanted attention on him.

He could be unsure or confused. He might think you took her away from him, or just generally confused as to where she went. I would work on trying to bond with him again to see if that helps. Hand feeding, laying on the floor and letting him run all over you, ect.
