Hm, is your cat litter box only a few inches tall all around? I also have a medium cat litter box, but I was lucky to find one with a high back, here’s a picture:

Its about 8 inches high at the back, but only 3-4 in the front. Thor took to it right away It is nice since she scoots her butt up to the very corner to pee, so this way no pee gets out onto the wall.

I have a double cat litter tray for outside which is in a corner and so they cant ‘over hang’ and in their condo they have a double litter tray made from deep storage boxes (the ones that come with a lid but obv I’ve left the lids off)
It’s the same surface footprint as a cat tray but with high sides (8 inches high). I appreciate i have big buns and they can jump in…. but there are lower sided storage boxes too… like under-bed ones.

I use one from Amazon which is advertised for ferrets o believe. I added an acrylic pane to prevent over the lip pees, and there’s knitting plastic mesh on top for easy cleaning and no litter tracking from his feet.

If you’re having trouble finding a high-sided tray, you can always use a storage container and just cut out a portion at the front to make it a little lower for hopping in and out of.

Many rabbits have trouble with peeing over the edge when the tray isn’t high enough.

I’ve always used a simple cat litter pan. My bun used this same style pan all her life so I didn’t want to switch it up all that much. However, I’ve seen some pretty creative pans! I’ve seen corner pans, rabbit specific pans (though most are far too small for my rabbit), cat litter trays, cat dome trays, and even long and shallow bins. Like mentioned above, you may just find it easier to use a bin as your pan- plus they can easily be modified.

I’ve also seen people use urine guards. Basically just bits of plexiglass attached to the edges of bins to prevent over the edge accident Good luck!

I use a green storage box from Ikea. It works really good and is pretty big. It’s twice Jumpy’s size. I think it’s called Trofast storage box.

Nothing that white vInegar cant handle….. it cleans pee stains on plastic like a dream !!!!!

my bun is great about using the litterbox but he loves to pee in the corners and if he’s already soiled one corner he’d just go over the edge in a regular litterbox but i haven’t had any issues since switching to this high-sided one.

my dad just built one for out of wood. that way it could be chewed on safely and we could customize size and how high the sides are. But because it is wood it has to be outlined with puppy pads. so I always have a layer of puppy pads that are under the one that the bun gets to dirty up and I get to change daily. makes changing and clean up quick and easy. just fold and throw away.

I initially started using CareFresh for litter but Rookie was picky and was adamant on only willing to use the blue color…wouldn’t even go for the purple!!!! craziness…but of course the blue one was always only available in the small bag or not at all…go figure…he also started munching on it so then I switched to Yesterday’s News soft unscented cat litter. worked great for Rookie as he was a paper muncher and when he was grumpy he would much away the paper pellets to make a point. And now Sprocket is using Yesterday’s News as well with no issues.
