This is a cat I met today, his name is Vovo and he is gaaawwwwgeous! 

After we lost Samp, Yumi lost a lot of her ‘spark’. She still binkied and flopped, but her sense of adventure was gone. She was still her, but almost muted in a way?

Today was the first time in a long time I saw her being her old self…She was giddy and mischievous- I never really thought I’d be happy to see her being bold but there you go!

Her and Peep are still trying to figure things out and cant see eye to eye about much,but they are both very cuddly when it comes to it.

Yumi and Chewie have matching bodies.

Tummy combing time!

Maggie usually just naps out like this for a while and when she is done with it she will just flip herself back over. But I love how easy she is to comb. We can just gently lift her chin up with a finger to do under it, put her on her back to do her tummy and between her legs, etc. Then she often has a nap on our lap after. Yesterday she started trying to groom me but it then turned into a tiny nibble so I said no. Today she gave my husband a few licks after he combed her.

Then there is Terry. Who licks the furniture. 

Oh wow, I’m feeling super lucky! I only knew she was okay with it because when I went to adopt her the RSPCA lady picked her up and showed me her fur where it was clipped and then just flipped her and went “you can hold her like this” and Maggie had just shut her eyes and flopped with her legs out. She can flip herself anytime when she wants, but she will usually stay on her back for 1-2 minutes very happily provided she gets attention out of it.

Sometimes I am expected to try to comb them both at once too. Because I can pick them both up at once, I pop them both on my lap in the lounge room and start combing one and the other will get pushy. So I get the long comb and run it along both their backs at once until Terry decides it is time to explore and rushes off somewhere. Maggie stays on my lap usually, so then she gets belly combs!

Bianca-I want to get on boar with how cute that is…and then I remember that I own 2 fluffy monsters, NEITHER of whom like lettingme NEAR their tumies…and I have an overwelming sense of jealousy!!
(Okay so it’s still super cute!!)

Bianca! How lucky are you with such a cooperative bun! When theo was unwell with his tummy and moulting SOO badly I tried to groom his tummy once. He kicked me with both big thumpers in the face and split my lip. Never tried that one again haha

@Ellie – Brientje’s ears are so short, I love it!

It’s official! A clean bill of health for Wick at his 1-week post-neutering check-up. First time since I got him that we don’t have a pending vet appointment. How exciting!

@Wick: Thank you ^_^ Those short ears are one of the cutest things about him, these are his NL dwarf genes at work. He’s slightly oversized for an NL dwarf, so we think he’s a false dwarf. Would explain why he was sold as a pet: breeders breed full dwarf bucks with false dwarf does to prevent peanuts and birthing issues. This produces full dwarfs and false dwarfs (which have many of the cute characteristics but may be slightly oversized). False dwarf bucks are not very useful for breeding or for showing, so they’re often sold as pets.

I’m so happy for you that Wick’s health is getting better. He looks absolutely adorable with his blankie Is he a full NL dwarf?

@Ellie – despite big ears, quite sure he is! He’s a runt, so it could be his body stayed small but his ears grew out as originally planned, haha. And Wick does love the blanket. he never approaches any blankets or cushiony places to lay, but when you lay it on for him, he loves it.

I just found one of those “most likes wins” competitions on facebook. This one is for a local pet supply store I love, and they asked people to share photos of their “bed warmers” giving an example of a dog. So every single person has entered a dog. I entered this:

I think I found the comp too late to win (it started a week ago and ends tonight) but I’m pretty happy to have a different, creative, and adorable bed warmer! Maggie is like a little heat pack – I nearly fell asleep the other night on the couch with her on my lap, and she was very upset after over an hour of her napping that I had to get her off!

My dog usually overheats if I try to use her as a bed warmer – apparently I am too much of a bed warmer for her!

She is Sooo going to eat your charger cables at the earliest opportunity.

Oooh! LOL Narf! I didn’t realize it was an error message – I thought they were supporting something.

Haha. Forum leaders going on strike maybe?
GJ is right. It’s an issue with Photobucket. They’ve “broken” the Internet.
They’ve suspended accounts that have been free for a number of years, taking away some of the features. Unless you pay for the $40/month account.

They disabled linking to photos and 3rd party hosting of photos. So anything any users of photobucket have shared anywhere online (forums, sale sites like eBay, blogs etc) now has the error pic where there was a photo.

A lot of threads on BB will no longer have pics to see as many members used photobucket. It’s also affecting the siggy pictures.

And today, the little logo under FL names has fallen victim.

My own account has over 500 pics and some video, all was for use on BB. Its the only reason I signed to to PB years ago. The Photo “pictorial” thread in our TECH section had images hosted in PB. So at the start of the week, the images of how to upload photos didn’t even show.

There has been a lot of grumbles online about it. They didn’t forewarn people. Lots of people migrating to other free photo hosting sites. But who knows how long those will remain free..
PB had been quite glitchy this past 18 month or so and the pop up ads got out of control. Im guessing to push people to at least pay for the ad-free account.

If anyone was curious, this is what a rabbit looks like in a Weatherbeeta dog rug. I bought it at a garage sale more for costume purposes than anything – husband and I have a few photoshoot ideas in mind for Maggie. I put her on the couch to take the photo and she was so upset when I took her back to Terry after – and took the rug off because she doesn’t exactly need it!

The main problem with having two bunnies around while I read is that they can’t resist chewing the corners of the book.   
But they do make good company.

Thank you jerseygirl!! I’m new to the forum so I’m still learning! This forum has been a life saver as I am new to being a rabbit owner! Lola is a mini-rex! She’s the SWEETEST thing you will ever meet. All she wants to do is snuggle! Its unimaginable to me that her last owners just abandoned her when they moved out of their apartment! I can barely leave the house in the morning because I miss her so much when I’m gone! But it was meant to be, now she’s a spoiled and very happy bun!!

Oh my, Lola and Kreacher are just gorgeous! As are Oakley and Boston, cute bunnies nomming those treats. I’ve always loved E-lops, but those ears seem so impractical, lol.

The tunnel is a Y-shape. The teal bowl is for water, the plain bowl with the green edge spots was a second hand shop find, a nice shallow dish good for eating from so that kitty whiskers don’t touch the sides. Both are larger than they need to be but better than too small

It’s really noticable that the uni year is officially over, Bas has loads of spare time now and he decides to spend a lot of it with us ^_^
Here’s one of my favourite pics from last week:

Breakfast was also cute this morning. I woke up super early because I couldn’t sleep through the pain, and I decided to put a bad thing to good use and surprise Bas with a nice breakfast. Baked a whole-grain bread with teff and maize flour with GF oat flakes through it, and added a lot of nuts and raisins. Knowing Bas a bit I managed to put it in the oven at the right time, so he woke up to the smell of fresh bread. Yums!

I also put raspberries out to let them come to room temperature, and Breintje picked up the scent but couldn’t find them. It was hilarious to watch, he patrolled around the table for several minutes with his nose twitching in the air. All this cuteness was eventually rewarded with a raspberry.

Azerane what kind of kitten are you getting? I missed this new kitten announcement !!

The litter isn’t even born yet, lol That’s how ahead of myself I am. I’d like a boy, and given the small litter size I may not get much choice. We get to meet the kittens at 8 weeks, place a deposit then to confirm and bring home around 12-13 weeks. I have a few name ideas but nowhere near settled on anything, I like to meet an animal before settling on a name

Nice good to be ahead of yourself I reckon – Oakley we had started preparing months before – then when we picked him at 2weeks old we still had another 6 weeks to wait haha!
You’ll have to share pics when you pick him so we can chuck in more name suggestions

Maine Coons are lovely. Haha, silly bunnies. I expect Apollo and Luna will adapt to a cat pretty well, but I’m worried about our parrot, she screams any time she sees a cat outside, but I’m not sure if it’s because it’s a cat or if it’s because they just surprise her when they suddenly appear walking past the window. So that will be interesting

Morning strawberry for Bam. Warning: Bunny tongue cuteness overload

I can’t actually remember how heavy he ended up … I know he wasn’t 8kg or anything like they can get up to.. I want to say 6kg (?)
Unfortunately he had no road sense at all , he was a indoor cat for that reason – but he managed to get out and was hit he was only 2.

Over here breeders don’t have the huge parents to be able to get 8kg kittens . We get a bit ripped off on the big pets – flemish giants here only get to 5.5kg roughly too.

Hi All I’ve Just Joined This Website/Forum! I am here for advice & bunny friends. I do have a few questions to ask which I will be searching for later but first I wanted to introduce myself and my bunny ? Her name is Nala she is a lion head cross & is 3 months old.. I’ve had her 3 weeks so I’m still trying to establish a bond with her but she’s super friendly, I think she’s starting to recognise my voice too, she eats out my hand, she likes strokes only on her terms though, she’s really inquisitive & loves coming indoors for a run where she goes crazy running and jumping before settling on the sofa on a blanket with her legs stretched out. She’s super cute (well I obviously think so) I got her from a pet shop, I saw her a week before we went on holiday & fell in love! (me & my partner was discussing getting a bun once we were back) 10 days after we got back from holiday we popped in the store to get my Tortoise some new lights & she was still there on her own! But my partner said that it still wasn’t the time to get her.. I came home from work the next day & he surprised me with a brand new double hutch complete with the adorable Bunny! He wanted to surprise me.. I’m completely in love & always fussing over her.. So here is Nala..

Gave the buns a new hay rack today, which includes a quick botch job of the coroplast edging inside. I was in a rush It holds a bunch more hay, but I’m concerned the holes may be a little small. Hopefully they just need time to get used to it. They’re so used to eating from over the top of the rack, under the rack and from the side of the rack This is just a change that will hopefully be less messy for me. As long as they don’t eat less hay as a result. I do need to properly cut coroplast to size though, just didn’t have the time for lots of precise measuring today. Apollo has a bad habit of sitting next to the litter tray and eating hay from the side, I plan to have that completely covered to hopefully stop that happening because I end up with lots of little poo piles next to the water bowl as a result.

It’s one of those under shelf storage rack things.

What with that and Cali still throwing up furballs….. I’m forever clearing up bodily fluids….

Breintje has discovered the fine art of flopping. Even though it’s relatively cool here in our room, he’s been flopping more frequently now since a couple of weeks. Bas and I totally love it, he looks so comfy.

Him and Yumi are still at odds. They flit between totally in love and cant stick each other. I found out that while they were home they had a very nasty fight-Peep has two crescent shape scabs on his side that Im not impressed with, though he doesnt seem to be holding it against her.

Here’s today’s “if I can’t see you, you can’t see me”-champion.
Mister sneakybuns crawled underneath the couch towards the sidetable in the corner of the room behind the couches. This is the bunny no-go zone because I have unshielded cables there, and antboxes. Suddenly it went awfully quiet in the house, and when he noticed me he sat there hiding: “Oh bugger, she knows, I’m doomed. DOOOOMED!”

hahaha!! He wants to play hide and seek…. “Suddenly all was quiet” although if you ask me, you’re at quite an unfair advantage if you don’t know he’s hiding! Little stinker!

“Man-bunception” can’t stop chuckling

Husband and I are creating a pet photography business, with a few packages aimed at pocket pets such as rabbits. We did a practice shoot with Greebo today. Greebo was adorable and very photogenic, but so tired by the end he just snuggled up on the side of the couch next to me, demanded a pat, and went to sleep. Here is a photo I took on my phone – the flash made his eyes look red but you get the idea. Once my husband uploads the good photos he took I will share a couple. 

Lol @ Man-Bun!! That made me burst out loud!!! Does he go to Starbucks and order something really complicated?

Did a photoshoot with Terry and Maggie this time. Tried a different blanket that doesn’t crease as the backing. Looks way nicer and the rabbits loved it. The blanket in question is covered in cat hair, but we plan to buy a brand new one for future use – and find the best ways of getting pet hair off blankets! Here is a photo I took on my phone, so no where near as good as what husband took on his camera, but I wanted something to share here instantly.

I’ll create a new thread for his photos when he uploads them.

The orange thing is part of a carrot. At one stage, Terry grabbed the entire carrot and tried to run away with it! 

To be fair, Maggie is usually the food thief so I guess Terry was just taking his turn!

Maggie gets away with it better because she can hide the food under her chin fluff which makes it harder to get – especially when Terry is usually so nice about it!

@Wick, Im curious about the litterboxes you use! They look nice and deep. How does the clear part on the front work though?
btw, I lol’d at the pick of Wick lying there with the cords sitting just over his little paws. Haha! Is he super good about not chewing them?
Oh, and the pics of him on his belly with legs straight out behind are too adorable!

Wick – The no-ears-pic of Wick looking right at the camera just made my heart melt! 

@jerseygirl – The litterbox is a high-walled one for ferrets I believe. The clear side is an acryllic panel I bought in a bundle of 24 from Amazon. (Safety first!) If you put a screwdriver over a candle to get the tip hot, it can melt through plastic/acryllic, so I taped the acrylic panel securely to the low-lip side, then melted two holes on each side. I then looped a cable tie on each side so it would stay in place. I did this so Wick can’t pee over the low lip anymore, but he can still see the box has hay and everything. It works very well! And if the pane ever gets dirty, I can cut the ties or sneak a towel in between because I fastened it near the top, so there’s some lee-way to swing it away from the box, enough to get vinegar spray and such in there. Alternatively, Wick’s other litter box (identical except for color) hasn’t been melted yet; I just tape the pane on there, which is easier for cleaning. The tape doesn’t come off at all, so that’s a perfectly fine method too!

Wick is very good with not chewing cords. I’ve never seen him do it. He’ll just get his mouth around it to move it if it’s in his way. The only thing he’ll pull (not chew) at is hairbands and wristbands, or things that he perceives may be part of your body because he wants to groom you (so if you’re playing a video game and the controller has a wrist strap, haha). It’s always a grip-and-pull though, never a chew. I’m very thankful and feel quite fortunate that I don’t need to worry about Wick chewing anything!
