  I use different litters for my rabbit, kiln dried pine shavings, carefresh, and I just got a new litter I wanted to try from Chewy, which was wheat straw pellets. On top of that I have 2 different litterboxes for her also, a plastic container for shoes and a ferret litterbox, she digs more in the ferret litterbox and today she started in the plastic container with the new wheat straw pellets. The reason why I wanted to use the new wheat straw pellets was because I had to dump an entire litterbox of shavings every day and a half for 3 rabbits, it runs through a bag fairly quickly and with those pellets you can just scoop out the clumps of urine.
  
  She doesn’t dig in the plastic container if it has wood shavings, but if possible I’d like to somehow stop or prevent this behavior because either way it wastes any litter.
  
  She does have a cage that’s a bit small (2.5 hops long for her) so I can’t put in a bigger litterbox, she seems more enticed to dig the more room she has. I do let her out every day for 2 hours minimum to play and run around, I even have a dig box for her that she can use.
  
  Has anyone had any luck getting their rabbit to stop digging litter? She is going to be spayed in about a month or so, but even so I heard spaying doesn’t always correct this.

  Litter screen! The store here at BB sells a great one that I use:

  but you can also make your own if you are so inclined or are out of shipping range. Pretty much any screen with small enough mesh will be good. I was worried at first that it would hurt her paws standing on it, but she hasn’t minded and seems comfortable (might be an issue if you have a rex). If you do have a rex, maybe a plastic screen would work better.
  
  As a side note, if you are worried she is getting bored in her small cage, would you have room to put up an x-pen around it? That way she could have more space and a larger litter box anyways.

  I’ll check out the litter screens, and I have thought she may have been bored but there’s no room in the rabbit room for an xpen, after making a cage with storage grids there’s not even enough to make another cage/pen or room, sometimes I feel as if she does it on purpose so I let her out.
  
  After her spay I do plan to move her to my bedroom, I’m even downgrading my bed size just to give her plenty of room to binky and run, then I could probably get an xpen for her.

  I really like the idea of the litter screen, but I’m a bit let down that I’d have to wait and preorder, so I think I’ll make my own screen and that way not have to worry about the sizes and changing litterboxes.
