I have two Male Bunnies bought from Pets at Home. Jack (white/Grey)and Victor (Looks like a wild Rabbit) are there names.
I got them when they were 8 Weeks old. In the beginning they were best friends cuddling up together in there meter by meter cage and happy rabbits. When the time came to get there vaccinations they had begun fighting. so I had to get a two level cage and separated them I would let one out at a time to run around and watch when they got near the cadge. if they were out together they would automatically fight very aggressively to the point where I thought they may never be friends again. as males do. territorial behaviours were in full flow like chinning and leaving poops everywhere. after they finally got there bits snipped. I left them for 8 weeks so all the hormones have left there system.
Bonding the two again. during the time apart I switched them in to each others cages for 1 day at a time infrequently.
Basically my bonding experiences after doing all the internet searching. consisted of a neutral territory- The conservatory.
stroking them side by side for 10 minuets I did this I let them go and they seemed to have picked up where they left of.
from then on I had the two boys in the conservatory for three weeks. during this period I had left them over night with access to the kitchen as well one fight broke out I stopped it took tem back to the separate cadges and then put them together again in the morning in the conservatory.
When the time came to put them in the same cadge I made up a vinegar/water/lemon concoction and after cleaning the cage upper and lower level out I sprayed all over and washed down the cadge. also there litter trays and toys. after giving this time to soak in I reassembled the cadge. and put the Bunnies out side it. there was a instant curiosity Victor who would normally jump straight into his house was more wary and finally jumped in. Jack followed and they started grooming each other.
Now they get to run around the bedroom together and jump up on the bed etc.
So yes two males can live happy together you just have to have the right personalities. I guess. Also they were raised together at least at pets at home not sure if they remembered who they were after there opp.
