  If I’m not sure that my rabbit ate something bad or poisonous, can I give her the oil inside the Vitamin E capsules? & how much?
  I read somewhere on the internet that it’s good to prevent poisoning but I’m not sure since there weren’t a lot of articles about it…

  If you think your rabbit has ingested something poisonous, take her to the vet…

  What do you suspect your bun has eaten? If your rabbit seems ill, contact a vet. If there’s poison still in the stomach, a vet can give active charcoal and supportive care.
  
  I doubt vitamin E would help. It’s sometimes recommended for a condition known as floppy bunny syndrome, but nobody really knows what causes this syndrome. Plant poisoning has been suspected, but it seems more likely to be caused by a deficiency of selenium or vitamin E.

  She didn’t eat anything poisonous… As far as I know. I want to know in case of emergency since 1- sometimes it’s impossible to go to the vet bc of time and other possible things 2- I don’t really trust the vet here.
  She does eat well and all, but somehow seems off & different which I guess it’s bc of puberty? I know this but I still feel anxious so I wanted to make sure that she is safe and If the vitamin e is good and doesn’t hurt my bunny, give it to her.

  With all due respect, ingesting something poisonous is a time where you have to go to the vet. Regardless of how inconvenient it might be. If you don’t trust the vet you have, you need to find one that you do trust for cases just like this.
  
  When you say she is ‘off’ how do you mean? And why would you want to give her vitamin e oil if she’s ‘off’?

  Please describe how she seems “off” in more detail =) Many of us have had buns that have hit puberty, so we know quite a few of the “symptoms”.

  She was always really lazy and calm but I noticed her change two days ago. Now, she is always chewing on the bars of her house and seems restless when she is there and jumping around & also when my family went to her she would always be excited & waited for them to pet her but now she ignores them after a few seconds… other than that she’s good and is eating well
  
  I read someone saying that he/she tried it & it was good and I just wanted to give it to my bunny to be safe bc I’m paranoid; specially since my other bunny died bc of poisoning without any symptoms.

  It does sound like it could be puberty. Especially girl rabbits can go into puberty literally overnight. It’s like the flipping of a switch. The rabbit becomes restless, even aggressive, pee- and poop marks, might hump toys etc. She can start to honk and circle her humans and nip them (that’s bunny courtship).
  
  It doesn’t sound at all like poisoning. Vitamin E wont do any good, if she’s eating and drinking and pooping like she should. Vitamin E is one of those vitamins that can be overdosed, because they’re fat soluble and the body stores them (A, D and E).

  Oh my goodness, really?! What on earth do people do with poorly animals when it’s after office hours? I’m sorry, I assumed there was emergency vets everywhere. I understand why you’re trying to plan ahead now.

  I’m not sure it would help with acute poisoning, but if you’re worried about emergencies out of hours it would be a good idea to have a first aide kit on hand! Here’s a great thread about them and what people keep on hand:

  sarahthegemini It’s such a shame… I know a few of people who had problems with their bunnies (emergency or not) and couldn’t go to a vet untill the next day!
