i have two rabbits, both are three months old. A few days back i noticed a sticky substance surrounding both rabbits eye/nose/mouth area. I was really worried and attempted to clean using a cotton bud and some water but it was too sticky. There is nothing in their cage that could have caused this. There is hay, pellets, water. One of the rabbits also had severly red paws. I rushed to the vet the next morning, the vet seemed quite unprofessional, he did not conduct any specific tests on my rabbits, he examined their tempreture, looked at the sticky substance and diagnosed them with a respiratory bacteria. He prescribed antiobiotics and vitamins that i had to feed the rabbits every twelve hours for seven days through a syringe. After ten hours passed one of the rabbits passed away, before he was given the antibiotic he was acting quite normal, eating and drinking normally. Does anyone know what the cause of his death is? For some reason i feel as if it is my fault for taking them to the vet to begin with. The other rabbit is still alive, has energy is eating and drinking normally, there is no more signs of sticky discharge i do however need to cleanse him. Should i keep feeding him the antibiotic and vitamins prescribed? or should i let him be? please help me
