  Hey guys! I got my gorgeous girl spayed today, because we ended up taking in a new bunny last week, and Snowball has been crazy aggressive toward him.
  
  I dropped her off around 8am, and they told me I could pick her up at 3pm. I did, exactly at 2:59. It’s 7:30 now and she hasn’t moved, eaten, pooped, or anything since I brought her home.
  
  I called the vet to ask about it, and of course my rabbit doctor was gone for the day, and the guy I talked to didn’t know a rabbit from a moose, I swear. The only thing he told me to do, was to check her temperature. I told him all I had was a child thermometer, he told me (literally) that all I had to do was lift her tail and stick it in her poop shoot. This was after he got on the phone and told me he didn’t know anything about rabbits!!
  
  (Yes, I Will be looking for a new vets office. I like my bun vet, but she’s never available… This is the second time I needed something urgent and couldn’t reach her!! P.S. How do I find a vet who is fluent in rabbit??!!)
  
  Anyway. How long should she be asleep/not eating/not pooping..? She moves if I poke her, so I know she isn’t dead. But it’s been almost 5 hours and i’m starting to get really worried.

  Instead of a thermometer, you can also check to see if she is too cold if her ears feel cold. Usually after the spay the bun will need something to help keep her warm. Put a small blanket next to her or a hot water bottle wrapped in a towel; make sure she is able to move away from the heat source if she wants to.
  
  When was she given metacam last? Is it time for her next dose? Try to entice her to eat by handfeeding some of her favorite veggies. Also dip them in water to help keep her hydrated. Some buns take longer to munch on their first bit of post-spay food than others, but if I remember correctly, Luna didn’t nibble on some veggies until about 4-5 hours after her spay. Poop didn’t happen until halfway into the night, and it was only 3-5 pellets.

  Thank you so much. She didn’t get any meds sent home with her, they said they gave her 2 injections for pain meds before I picked her up.
  
  Her ears are cold. I had mentioned that to my boyfriend, especially since it’s 92 outside and definitely no lack of heat around here.. Her cold ears had me worried! I will give her a blanket, and she should keep it on since she isn’t really moving yet.
  
  I did give her lettuce, a small chunk of banana, grass, and a rice pop (all her favorites). He told me she was eating lettuce when I showered earlier, but he could’ve been trying to make me less worried,

  I would definitely call your vet tomorrow to see if he/she will give you some pain meds for her. The vet really should have given her some for home.
  
  Good spotting the ears! Keeping an eye on her temperature is so important right now. Yes she needs a blanket then. Kind of drape it over/around her (instead of wrapping her up in it and tucking it); that way she can wriggle out easily if she starts feeling too hot. (92F? Are you in Michigan by chance?)
  
  If she even slightly nibbled on any of those foods then that’s great news!

  I am in Michigan! We go to a vet in Battle Creek, but I am willing to travel if we could find someone better.

  This week has been awful, and it’s only Monday!! We have a 50% chance of rain tonight, which means it probably won’t reach us.
