okay there is a fairly long story attached to these two so bare with me.
Brewski is my girlfriend and I’s first rabbit, he is the Polish dwarf, we got him in early December 2016 which would make him about 8 months old. He is extremely docile and friendly with people, he will also tolerate other animals such as cats and dogs as long as they don’t try and chase him. In March(?) I think, my girlfriend adopted Jasper, a rabbit which had been kept in a very small cage its whole life and largely ignored, he was about 2 years old. When we introduced the two they were very friendly, basically inseparable, but quickly that turned violent as neither were fixed yet. Surprisingly Brewski, the much smaller rabbit was the aggressor, nipping bleeding spots in Jasper’s neck and groin. We separated and fixed both rabbits, Jasper had a more skittish temperament toward people at first and would regularly nip, kick, and thump at you, but he was becoming more social but then he died unexpectedly about a week ago. I took down the barrier so Brewski could have the whole space to himself now, and he became noticeably sad, hiding in Jasper’s favorite spots and not eating much at all. We then decided to get him a new companion and my girlfriend picked a 3 month old female French lop we named Leinie. She is fairly docile but isn’t used to being handled regularly yet, she seems friendly with Brewski but we would like to keep them together in one space. The space we have is a closed in porch about 4.5′ wide by 8′ long. Due to size and breed differences I don’t know if this is a very good idea.
Any help with this would be appreciated thanks!
