I have made a post previously about my rabbit not being much of a chewer (unless it’s furniture or a baseboard ) so sorry for being a bit repetitive. This is a bit different however…

Eli gets to come out from his expen in the morning for about an hour and then in the evening for anywhere from 2 – 4 hours. He mostly just walks around and explores and will occasionally run laps for a few seconds.

During the day he is in his expen which I think is fairly large, about 10ft x 10ft. He has a card board house with multiple levels that he can hop in and out of and a few chew toys that I have started rotating, though this still does not seem to make him interested in them… He also like to dig. Specifically, he digs under his house where there is a rug that he can shred. He doesn’t ingest it, only rips it up. He maybe spends about 5 minutes a day digging. He did not seem interested in a dig box. I filled it with shredded newspaper and a bit of hay.

The rest of the day and night he just lays around, sleeps, and eats hay. This is how he spends the MAJORITY of the day!!! Probably 20 hours of the day is spent laying around.

Right now, I can’t afford to get him a friend, though I wish more than anything that I could.

He doesn’t seem interested in the toys that I offer him. I think he is still a pretty happy bunny but he is only about a year and a half and I don’t want him to go through the rest of his life bored!

Please help with suggestions! What do your rabbits do during the day? How do you keep their life exciting and fun for them?

Elijah is my very first rabbit and I want him to have the best life possible!

Rabbits don’t do much during the day – they are most active early morning and evening. So it’s normal to not be particularly active throughout the day

Even if it seems as if it’s all day, except maybe an hour here to there? Are some rabbits less interested in toys than others? Because I think he could care less about them?

I am happy to hear that maybe it’s normal but it just seems like SO much laying around!!

Wick doesn’t care about toys. He hasn’t chewed anything in his life either, haha, so it will be partially affected by personality, barring there are no health/dental issues which may cause disinterest in chewing instead.

Wick gets his kicks by just lounging. When he is active, I just make sure his spots he visits are easily accessible and clear for rabbit landing.

So far his teeth are good! He is good about eating his hay.

I guess he just enjoys lounging mostly as well!

I am bad about comparing my rabbit to others because it seems as if everyone else is so active!

I don’t mind him lounging because I am probably the same way – it’s why we’re a good match  I just want to make sure that he is happy!

My rabbits will sometimes do barely anything except for a major sprinting and Binkying session in the morning and evening. Other days they don’t go as crazy but they are constantly hopping about. Then there are days like yesterday where they did virtually nothing because it was such a humid day. I think as long as they seem happy,  it’s nothing to worry about. In regards to toys, not all rabbits are interested and some are just very picky. Mine like baby toys – special ‘rabbit’ toys don’t interest them at all!

Okay, good! Thank you! My bun sounds just like yours then. He has a baby ball that rattles that he likes to throw around but he rarely touches the rabbit toys. Most days he is very chill except for when he wants to do his sprints.

He and I can not do much together and he can do all the sprinting for both of us because I try to avoid that!

Thanks for all your feed back!!!
