My rabbit has been eating veggies for around 2-3 weeks I think. He’s eating 1/2 cup of lettuce each day (slowly increasing it)I first gave him parsley after the lettuce but he wouldn’t eat it so 2 days ago I gave him some broccoli he wouldn’t eat it. So today I decided to give him a tiny little piece of carrot thinking he would eat it since it is full of sugar but he didn’t all he will eat is lettuce. I’m honestly not sure what to do any suggestions?

How old is your rabbit and is he eating hay and pellets normally?

Whenever introducing veggies, do it slowly and see how your rabbit reacts. For Wick, dandelion greens and parsley make him pee like Niagra falls, and when many new things are introduced in a short period, it can cause gas and gut imbalances.

In terms of a liking to lettuce, Wick actually has that. Aside from strawberries, he loves romaine lettuce above all veggies. He also gets it the most by far. It could be your rabbit’s taste, or it could be he perceives it as something which made him feel icky.

My rabbit is 3 months 6 days old. Yes he is eating hay and pellets like normal. He is eating about 4 tbs of pellets and about his head size of hay which isn’t a lot but I’m working on making him eat more for some reason he only likes eating hay out of a bowl or my hand not out of his litter box or hay rack. He has had no runny poop so far when he eats veggies and he seems to been peeing normal.

He could be just a bit fussy. When my buns were on veggies (they’re currently not having veggies due to Buttercup’s health issues) sometimes they’d reject new things or get really suspicious of them lol so it might take a few attempts at giving something new before they actually take it.
