I have actually filmed it, first thing I did was show the vet the following video. She watched the video a couple of times but couldn’t figure anything out. From what I see it’s nothing like a seizure, even when I said her eyes were twitching, it doesn’t show in the video which means they weren’t twitching each and every time. The day after I first posted my topic (which was the day of our appointment) the head tilt stopped but Ruvik got into a gassy GI stasis and I was busy with that.

The head tilt may have stopped but she keeps scratching her ears like crazy, both of them but the right one more than the other. She also licks it a lot. I don’t know if Stronghold is doing anything? The vet did say to come on June 20 for another dose of Stronghold but I don’t know anymore.

The tilt certainly is interesting, and you’re right that it doesn’t really look like a seizure, apart from her head going back she seems aware of what is going on. Perhaps it’s an ear issue, just not the standard infection that usually causes a sideways tilt. Not that I’ve seen every rabbit with mites, but I’ve not seen a rabbit get a tilt from mites before. I don’t think there’s any harm in treating with Stronghold, but it might also be worth asking your vet to consider an antibiotic for an inner ear infection. There are many causes of tilt, and if I’m honest I’ve not seen one like that, but mites would certainly not be my first thought.

The itching certainly could point to mites, although an inner ear infection could be itchy also. I’m really not sure, just speculating. I do hope you and your vet can figure it out though.

That’s what’s worrying me, the doctor doesn’t know much and I’m left to figure it out on my own. I can’t seem to find anything exactly. If I’m looking into the head tilt her symptoms match a middle ear infection but now the head tilt stopped. So now I’m looking into her ear scratching and I can’t find any other symptoms to stick.

Various sources state dandruff and other signs that don’t match with her. She did have some flaky skin behind her ears a while ago (as in months before). Now I could only see one or two flakes. She had some discharge in her eyes, almost white but not quite and it stopped after the vet prescribed tobrex drops. I’m going crazy here.

I did another inspection just now and found a single yellow bump on her ear. It’s really small but when I touch it she scratches at it, maybe this is the cause?

I would want to treat with baytril and fenbendazole, and possibly add metacam. and get a second opinion. The yellow bump sounds like mites. You can get Ivermectin OTC for that 2 doses 10 days apart orally, and to relieve the itching, use a cotton ball and rub oil on the inside and outside of the ears. Evefy second day for 4 weeks should do the trick.

According to this: Skin Diseases in Rabbits ear mites are treated either by Ivermectin or Stronghold/Revolution which she already got. Guess I’ll stick to it instead of giving her a new drug. I will talk to the doctor about giving her Baytril because apparently it should help with an inner + middle ear infection according to this: Head Tilt in House Rabbits (scroll down to Diseases Resulting in Head Tilt section) and it should help with her occasional sneeze that has me worried (Which I mentioned in another topic about my other rabbit Hazel, here: https://binkybunny.com/FORUM/tab…fault.aspx)
