  So my bun is 8 months old currently, and not spayed. I will be getting her spayed hopefully by the time she is one. I think I’ll be able to meet my dad’s grade qualifications for the spay by the end of this school quarter (I’m in a year round school so no summer break except 10 days to go shopping for school supplies and clothes) which is near the end of June. I don’t think those 10 days are the best though as you have to set up the surgery and everything. I’m also getting braces (Oh no!!) during that break so it’s not the best time for me either. I then have 3 weeks of school and I would prefer to watch her more carefully after the surgery. I have a 3 week break after that. I’ll be gone for about a week of that time but around 14 days I believe should be fine. She may be a little stressed though as she will most likely be staying at a friend’s house when I’m gone.
  Ok that was a lot of talking feel free to leave advice on what I said too but I’m wondering, what at the chances of uterine cancer before the age of 1? Is about 10-11 weeks before I would even be able to get her spayed which is almost 3 months so she will be almost one.

  In my understanding, risk of uterine cancer is low under 2 yrs of age, and then starts increasing after that. I would say you are safe under 1yrs of age!

  I’m not sure what the exact risk is for her age, but I would think it would be low because intact buns who are more than 3 years of age are at the greatest risk. Luna didn’t get spayed until she was almost 3 years old – she wasn’t mine until she was around 1.5 years old and I admit I also put off the surgery because I was afraid something would go wrong, but after reading others’ posts and learning more about the procedure, I put aside my anxiety and found a great spay vet. It’s definitely a good idea to make sure that you’ll be able to keep an eye on her right after her spay, and I agree that if you’re not going to be gone until 14 days after her spay that it should be fine .

  Abnormal changes in uterine tissue has been observed in rabbits as young as 6 months. This doesn’t mean they have cancer. The risk of actual cancer in rabbits under 2-3 years of age is pretty low. I doubt having her spayed around a year of age is going to hurt anything.

  My vet told me that they will have to wait for my rabbit to become 1 year old before proceeding the operation.
