        Hi

Jumpy is almost 7 months old. He currently is eating Alfalfa pellets and hay. We are looking into getting him some oat hay but there is no timothy pellets in Israel. How much pellets should he eat when he is older?

About 1/4-1/2 cup per 6 pounds of body weight. But if you don’t have Timothy pellets I would limit your bun to maybe 1/8 cup max just because alfalfa is not the best for adult rabbits. You can totally stop feeding pellets if you would like just make sure to decrease the amount of pellets slowly and increase the amount of fresh greens (veggies) , fresh herbs and dry herbs. You could also give your bun different types of hay (Alfalfa only as a treat) that will make sure your bun is getting a healthy diet with everything in it!

Thanks. He doesn’t really like pellets. A 1/4 last him more than a day. He does get a dried forage mix that I make for him. He gets about two cups of veggies and herbs.
