New to site here hope I’m in the right forum.. Ques. Is I received a beautiful lionhead mini Rex buck for Christmas born June of previous year. . April 19th I got a doe lop close to his age . They mated a lot for about 2 weeks then we got him fixed. It is now day 38 since first mate and she has been nesting for almost 2 weeks straight every morning I expect to see babies but nothing. Ready to take out nesting box and think this is all hormonal due to introduction of buck. They love each other and it has been hard keeping them separated.. If nothing by Tuesday I am going to get appt. for vet sonogram. Heartbroken if I got him fixed too early and now no bun buns. .?? What do you think ?

So you were attempting to breed them?

Also, they do not love each other. They were mating. If you want them to be together you need both to be neutered and spayed (she should be spayed anyway due to health) and then you must bond them properly.

Very few of us here at the BB forums know enough about bunny breeding to be able to advice you well.

I think you’ll get more qualified help at the forum Rabbitsonline. They have a section called the Rabbitry and Showroom, where breeding and pregnancy and baby buns are discussed.

I would get her seem sooner rather then later. If she is pregnant and having a longer gestation period, there could be complications.
Nesting for 2 weeks seems pretty unusual too.

Neutered rabbits also have viable sperm for a while after the op so if you had them together after, she could conceive from that time also.

I also recommend you post on rabbits online as suggested or other forums that discuss breeding. More likely you’ll find folk that have seen what you’re seeing.

              I hope she’ll be okay!
